With over 55 years of combined experience, we’ve sourced unique, often organic-based ingredients that are not only unfamiliar to our competitors but also entirely new to the Canadian market. Our prospective clients made it clear: to earn their trust, Hydra Chem’s solutions had to outperform the best products available, demonstrating that safety and performance can go hand in hand.

DARREN CUNNINGHAM
MANAGING PARTNER
Darren Cunningham is one of the co-founders of Hydra Chem a company he and his partner founded over 12 years ago with the aspiration to change industry standards by developing safer alternatives to harsh chemicals. Darren likes spending time with his wife Leanne, daughter Charlie May, and boxer dog Lou. He loves hanging out by a campfire at the lake or at weekend car shows with one of his classic rods.
Troy hawes
MANAGING PARTNER
Troy Hawes is one of the cofounders of Hydra Chem and has over 23 years of sales experience. He is dedicated to industry excellence and prides himself on consistently providing exceptional customer service to all of his clients. Troy loves spending time with his wife, Lauren, and children Cooper and Penelope and bulldog, Hazel. When he’s not proudly representing Hydra Chem he can be found coaching his son’s basketball team, golfing or playing highly competitive cornhole at the lake.

With 20+ years of professional sales experience, Dave Logan has joined Hydra Chem to apply his knowledge of sales & business systems to enhance our growth. Outside of work Dave enjoys volunteering in the Edmonton rugby community, riding his bike, and traveling around the world with his wife.

Dave Caplin is a First Nations member and influential community leader, armed with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management. When this former US Army paratrooper isn’t working or spending time with loved ones you can usually find him running marathons or hitting the gym. He believes in the power of good conversation, and enjoys helping and meeting new people.

Dylan brings the same energy and teamwork from the rink to his role, always ready for the next challenge!

EVERY year we are directly involved in the “Face Off for Alzheimer’s” hockey tournament organized by the Alberta Alzheimer’s Association. This tournament is profoundly impactful to those afflicted by Alzheimer’s because all the proceeds go directly to funding resources right in Alberta committed to finding a cure! Every setup is going to be a little different depending on the type of soil, the detergent application method, the water temperature and/or pressure, as well as the time you want to spend washing. Let one of our Sales Consultants take out the guesswork and provide an assessment of your business.
All degreasers are soaps, but not all soaps are degreasers. While soap helps to wash away dirt, a degreaser will break down grease into smaller particles that can be rinsed away. Typically, degreasers have a high pH, while soap is closer to neutral.
Acids like vinegar or lemon juice are good for household cleaning, and our mild acids are great for stains, rust, oxidation, and soap scum. Make sure to match your requirements to the right product. Call your Sales Consultant to be sure.
An organic chemical contains carbon, the footprint for life, and is able to be broken down in the environment. This doesn’t mean that they are always safe or will do no harm, but Hydra Chem ensures that we offer products that will do the job and be better for your people, equipment, and facilities than some of the harsher alternatives available in the market.
The biggest single variable in your cost to clean something is the time it takes to do it: how much product is applied in what way, giving a result you are happy with.
